What TopVacay stores

Short version: no ad trackers, no third-party analytics, no IP addresses stored, and no payments on this site.

Page views and events

When you open a page, we store the kind of event (for example a page view or a save), the page path, the trip it was about, the site that sent you (the host name only, not the full address), any utm_source, utm_medium or utm_campaign tags in the link, and a shortened browser user-agent so we can drop bots. We do not store your IP address and we do not set a tracking cookie. Your IP address is used briefly, in memory, to limit how fast one connection can send events, and is not written down.

Book clicks

A Book or Book this click records the trip, the item, the partner, the creator of the trip and, if you arrived on a creator’s referral link in the last 30 days, that creator’s handle and how many days ago you arrived. That is how creators would be credited. It does not record who you are. The partner site then has its own policy.

Group votes

Votes on a shared trip link store the trip, the vote, the option, and a random voter code made in your browser so a second click changes your vote instead of adding one. No account, name or IP address is stored with a vote, and the page shows only totals. Names typed into a who-owes-what link stay in that link and are not stored by us.

In your browser

We keep a few things in your browser’s local storage: trips and plans you made before signing in, your sign-in session if you have an account, the random voter code, and a creator referral for up to 30 days. Clearing your site data removes them.

Accounts

If you sign up, your email address is used to sign you in. Trips you mark public are public. Private and group trips are visible only to you or your group. Signed-in progress such as where you left off on a booking checklist is stored with your account and only you can read it.

Questions or deletion

Ask through the contact on the creators page to delete an account or its trips.
