🏰 Destination guide

Anaheim

Anaheim is one resort, two parks, and a walkable Downtown Disney between them. The trips here are Disneyland and California Adventure plans for a long weekend or a short week, with a rest morning built in when the kids are small.

Best time to visit

When to go, written in our own words. Highlighted months are the ones we would book first.

MonthWhat we would expect
JanCool and quieter after the holidays. Evenings want a jacket. A strong month for a short trip.
FebComfortable walking weather and lighter weekday crowds. One of the months we would book first.
MarSpring break builds. Early March is kinder than the last week.
AprWarm and busy. The parks stay open later. Book the room before the character breakfast.
MayHeat starts. A midday hotel break earns its place.
JunSummer crowds and summer sun. Go early, leave for the pool, come back for Cars Land at dusk.
JulThe busiest, hottest stretch. A three-day plan beats a week of rope drops.
AugStill hot, with a small dip once school starts. Late August is the better half.
SepWarm days and shorter lines midweek. A good month for ages 5–9.
OctHalloween parties and pleasant nights. Buy the party night on purpose or skip it.
NovCooler mornings and holiday overlays going up. Weekdays are the move.
DecChristmas crowds are the price of the lights. A weekday ticket is worth the flight change.

Where to stay

Inside the resort

Grand Californian opens into California Adventure. Disneyland Hotel and Pixar Place are a short walk. You are paying for the gate, not a view.

Harbor Boulevard

Candy Cane Inn and the other shuttle hotels sit across the street. The room is cheaper. The morning starts with a shuttle or a crosswalk, not a private entrance.

Questions people ask

How many days do these plans use?

Three to six. Two park days plus a hopper, or a slower week with a morning off, covers Disneyland and California Adventure without a fake seventh gate.

Where do the prices come from?

Each line is an estimate we wrote: one standard room, one adult-priced ticket, one meal. Nothing is a live quote, and these trips have no votes yet.
